Donnelly & Thomas Builders Testimonials

I have used Donnelly & Thomas Builders for two major jobs at my home, firstly to build an extension and secondly to refurbish my bathroom. Both jobs have been finished exactly as i had envisaged on time and to an extremely high standard. When i first met Albie & Nev, I instantly felt confident in their ability to do the work at my home but never felt pressured at any time to engage them to work.

They provided written estimates, approximate time span for work and also introduced the architect who drew up the plans and submitted them for the work. They arrived every day on time, worked all day and i never once had reason to complain about the standard of their work or that of the other craftsmen they used to complete the jobs. Every workman who entered my home were polite, friendly but most of all, skilled in what they were there to do. Albie & Nev went out of their way to help in any way they could, whether it be getting advice from planning dept, sourcing materials or tweaking the design to suit my ideas.

For me, the best saving i made was with their help, introducing me to trade suppliers for my kitchen which was a fraction of the cost, I waited a long time to have my dream kitchen and Albie & Nev helped me achieve it. If i had sufficent funds available, I would have no hesitation in asking them back to do further work and can recommend them 110% for their overall ability, reliability and willingness to produce a perfect job.

Thanks again Albie & Nev.

D&T Builders came to do one job and did nine. The walls of our sunken garden were in danger of collapsing so we decided to have them rebuilt. A friend told us that Donnelly & Thomas were laying block pavers next door to him and appeared to be tidy workmen doing a good job.We called to see them and explained the job. They visited that day but said that pricing would be difficult as we wanted to use the original stone and it depended on how easily they cleaned off. We settled on a mutually agreeable way of pricing the job and all was set for a start date of just before christmas. However, bad weather meant the start was delayed until the new year. Despite snow and frost the work was completed. So satisfied were we that job number two of taking up a york stone crazy path and relaying it with indian stone was agreed. As it seemed a shame to waste the york stone we decided to have the concrete paving stones in the BBQ area lifted and the area re-laid with york stone. Job number four was to lay the lifted paving stones in the garden store. By this time their work was beginning to make other areas look neglected but agreed work with other customers required a break. They were soon back to rake out and re-point the house dwarf walls below the rendering for job number five. With the main body of the house now looking smart the two chimney stacks were letting the side down so they produced job number six re-point chimney stacks. They soon returned to rake out and point the garage walls and re-set the garage ridge tiles for job number seven. The proverbial snowball rolled on one last time ( or will it be? ) to produce job number eight, taking up thirty paving stones in the front garden and replacing them with concrete block pavers and nine cutting into the sewer pipe and installing a soil pipe for an en-suite.

Are we satisfied with the work they do? Well let us put it this way, if we had not been happy with job number one they would not have done jobs two, three, four, five ,six. seven, eight, nine.
